Celebrated television host and Emmy award-winningJournalist Jeff Koinange honoured his promise he made to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, almost two years ago. Ken Okoth challenged Jeff during one of his Jeff Koinange Live shows to build a library for students at Mbagathi High School. The library was to be namedafter Jeff, buthe changed it in honourof the late Kibra MP. Ken was very elaborate on his dream for promoting education to his constituents, which also included availing platforms for children to express themselves artistically.
On 31.08.019, Jeff Koinangeofficially launched the Ken Okoth Memorial Library at Mbagathi Girls High School and fulfilled his promise of building and stocking the library with books. The Citizen TV host has called on well-wishers to donate books at any time to help children access knowledge. From his Instagram handle, Jeff indicated that they had started stacking books in the library. The Ken Okoth Library was the MP’s dream which he fought for to the last minute, and with Jeff Koinange stocking it with books, it is a dream come true not only for the late lawmaker but also for the students who are set to benefit from it or generations to come.Jeff Koinange Equips Ken Okoth Memorial Library with Books
Before his demise, Ken had launched a drive dubbed “Elimu Kwanza” that targeted filling the library with books so that the premise can meet the needs of the students. The Ken Okoth Library received a boost in the donationof books from www.maktabas.org and other donors.

Ken Okoth Memorial Library, formerly Jeff Koinange Library, was the brainchild of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth. He had a dream of having a library built and stocked with books to meet the needs of the students. Almost two years ago, the late lawmaker challenged Jeff, who took it in stride and made it happen. The library stands within Mbagathi Girls High School, which is a towering block signifying one of the landmarks projects thatcementthe legacy of the late Member of Parliament. The Ken Okoth Library project was undertaken using the Constituency Development Finds.
The library was to be launched by both Jeff Koinange and Ken Okoth, but the lawmaker passed on before it could happen. The library still needs donations of more books and computers to fill its shelves. A resource centrewill make it easy for the students to access knowledge and anyone else willing to read a book or two.
